My name is Alyssa Rockwell, and I am a recent graduate from Acadia University with a degree in Music Therapy. I have spent the last year completing an internship in the Cape Breton regional hospital working in palliative care, and several nursing homes in the area.
I play the piano, guitar, ukulele, and my major instrument in school was voice. Music has always been a very large part of my life since I can remember, and I believe in its ability to heal, and bring people together.
Growing up in Cape Breton, there was such a rich musical playground to explore with many instruments being played at every family gathering including guitars, pianos, drums, and of course the fiddle. This background helped shape who I am as a musician and lead me to my path of becoming a Music Therapist.
I am so excited and honoured to be a part of UB Music-que’s team, and look forward to meeting new faces and growing as a member of this community.
